Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. It is Docento.app's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website.

1. Privacy First

Docento.app is designed from the ground up to be privacy-first. All PDF processing, editing, and signing happens directly in your browser on your own computer. Your files are never uploaded to, stored on, or processed by our servers. We do not have access to your documents at any time.

Mobile App

The Docento Android and iOS apps process PDFs, signatures, scan drafts, and editing sessions locally on your device. It does not require an account and does not upload your documents to Docento’s servers.

The free Android and iOS apps display advertising through Google Mobile Ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device and network identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, diagnostic and performance data, and ad and product interaction data to deliver, limit, measure, and protect advertising. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Docento presents Google’s consent choices before requesting ads, and you can revisit those choices from the app’s Settings screen where available. On iPhone and iPad, Docento asks for Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission before Google Mobile Ads can use the device’s advertising identifier for personalized ads. You can decline this permission and continue using the app; ads may be less relevant. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

The mobile apps store working PDFs, exports, saved signatures, and editing sessions locally. If you enable device backup or transfer, your device platform may include app files according to its settings. You can remove local app-owned documents from Settings. Screenshots and recent-app previews are permitted by the app, so avoid capturing sensitive documents on shared devices.

2. Information We Collect

Log Data: We may log information about your device and how you use our app for analytics purposes to improve our service. This data may include your device's IP address, browser type, pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and other statistics. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to personally identify you.

Cookies: We use cookies to remember your preferences (like your theme choice) and to help with analytics. A cookie is a small piece of data that our website stores on your computer, and accesses each time you visit. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use some features of our website.

Signatures: If you choose to save a signature for reuse, it is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We never see or have access to your saved signatures.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to understand how our visitors use our website, to improve our services, and to maintain the security of our platform. Since we do not collect personal files or documents, we cannot and will not use them for any purpose.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services like Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics and Vercel for hosting. These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share any personal data with them directly.

5. Advertising

This site is funded by display advertising, which is what keeps the tools free to use. We work with Google, as a third-party vendor, to serve ads on this site.

Cookies used for advertising: Google uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure advertisements. These cookies are used for ad selection, delivery, frequency capping, and reporting; they are not used to access anything you open in the PDF editor, which never leaves your device.

Your choices: You can decline personalised advertising using the cookie banner shown on your first visit; every feature of the site remains fully available if you do. You may also opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices and the NAI opt-out page. Browser-level cookie controls work here as well.

Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland: we use Google’s consent management signals, and advertising and analytics storage stay disabled until you consent. Where required, personalised advertising is served only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time through the cookie banner.

Children: this site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because the editor never receives your documents, we generally hold nothing beyond anonymous analytics data and any message you have chosen to send us. To make a request, or to ask what we hold, email us at contact@docento.app or use our contact page.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page.

This policy is effective as of July 31, 2025 and was last updated on August 30, 2026. Questions about it can go to contact@docento.app.
